Our Vision  For every man to become a bold, daring follower of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission  By God’s grace, to help congregations build life-changing ministries with men; to strengthen men’s faith and relationships for witness and service; to equip followers of Jesus Christ through events, resources, and leadership development.

Lutheran Men in Mission is a 501(c)(3) ministry with and to men in the Lutheran church and beyond.   We work to strengthen men's Christian faith, relationships, witness and service in their homes, congregation and communities.

Join Team LMM on RAGBRAI

Webmaster here.  Three summers ago my son Peder and I drove his resurrected Taco the 1593 miles from Hood River, OR to Omaha in 25 hours straight, then caught a bus to Sioux Center, IA to ride 471 miles across Iowa on the 40th edition of RAGBRAI, the original mass cross state bike tour.  We ate our way from one Lutheran church fund-raiser to another with help from Mr. Pork Chop, Beekman's ice cream, food on a stick and malt beverages.  It was hotter than blazes, sticky humid, whole week in the big chain ring flat and we had an absolute blast.

This July 19-25, Director Doug Haugen and a group dubbed Team LMM are riding the 460 miles of RAGBRAI to raise support for LMM.  Peder just got married or I would have seriously considered riding again.  Whether you wish you were cycling with them or your idea of fun is more along the lines of a fishing pole and frosty beverage, we can all be part of the team.  Join me in supporting their efforts with a per mile pledge.  Ride updates and photos at this blog.

Lutheran Men in Action

Cross Generations at workOn a cold January evening, 13 men of all ages from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gilman Illinois gathered in a wood shop. They were together to make small wooden prayer crosses. The goal was to have Pastor give crosses to members in the hospital or confined at home, but God had other plans. A Cross generational project (pun intended), read the story of how their work has blessed the congragation and greater community.  Click here for the full story
