Lutheran Men in Mission feels called to take the lead in developing ways for church culture to adapt to the needs of men.
In mission to young men,
LMM offers a variety of resources that will impact a young man’s life and relationship with Christ.
Resources & Events
In addition to the events like ONE YEAR TO LIVE and regional and local gatherings, and the
Master Builders Bible, there are always new books,
media and research coming out that our leaders review.

LMM LEAD
In fall 2009, the LMM launched a leadership development and discipleship program for young men called LEAD. In this year-long event, young men from different parts of the country are recruited to meet monthly and bi-weekly for leadership development in areas such as: missional-approach to ministry, becoming students of culture, discipleship skills and strategy, as well as personal leadership development. Using social-networking technology as well as voice and video calls, this group stays highly connected as a geographically-separated small group. This program kicks off in the fall of with the participants attending the "One Year To Live" retreat, and then is meeting in person during the quarterly board meeting. The long term goal upon completion of the program is that each of these young men will be able to replicate this discipleship and community-centric approach in their local contexts. Nominations or recommendations of young men are due to the Young Men's Specialist by August 1st of each year. Download

Young Men's Ministry Council
LMM has a group of young men who serve as a resource to the Lutheran Men in Mission Board of Directors. They are diverse in geography, walks of life, industry, educational background, and family situation. They represent a sounding board regarding outreach, resource development, and idea generation for the post-college to pre-minivan demographic. Alumni of the LEAD program are often invited to cycle into this group as openings permit.
Social Networking
With the advent and grassfire-like spread of social networking sites, LMM is keen on being visible via the web and sites such as Facebook. The LMM “group” was started in 2008 but does not allow for the updates to be visible in the mini-feed, so a “fan-page” was started in January 2010. There will continue to be updates to the group page, but most of the effort will be placed on the fan page. Additionally, local and regional LMM groups have been highly encouraged
by this connection and much conversation and activity happens on the regional sites allowing men to be engaged in practical ways.
Youth Men's Ministry Specialist
Since 2004, LMM has had a part-time staff person serving in the role of Young Men's Ministry Specialist. The men who have served in this role make time in the midst of seminary or a career in corporate America. This specialist is a resource to the national leadership and local, and pending their schedule, are available for events and workshops around the country.
Kyle Pedersen is currently serving as the Young Men’s Ministry Specialist and is engaged in ongoing dialogues with leaders around the county as he travels.
